Large garden with sleepers, wildlife features and sheltered seating
A large, elevated garden designed for a couple who wanted space to grow trees, shrubs and perennials, alongside areas for relaxing, growing vegetables and enjoying garden art. The design uses reclaimed railway sleepers throughout the layout, creating paths, raised beds, seating platforms and a sheltered firepit area. Security is improved with slatted fencing, trellis and strategic planting, while still allowing sunlight into the garden. A wildlife pond, flowering lawn and habitat features support biodiversity, and a polytunnel and raised salad bed offer practical growing space. The planting palette is chosen for resilience in windy conditions, providing structure, colour and seasonal interest across the year.
