Small family garden, Hurstpierpoint

A small, heavily‑used family garden redesigned to feel more private, resilient and low‑maintenance. The space had multiple dark corners, overlooking from neighbours and the daily reality of children, balls and busy family life. The concept introduces structure, light and ecological planting, using native and habitat‑supporting species to soften boundaries and create pockets of interest throughout the year. The design balances practicality with a gentle, natural feel, offering a simple layout that works with the family’s rhythm and a planting palette that thrives with minimal care.
